de VK4AES Thu-05Feb09 21:09 UTC Sunspots Solar Update 02/05/2009 by Kevin VE3EN at 02:30 On Wednesday there was some minor aurora conditions caused by a shifty solar wind and southward Bz component. Solar activity on the other hand will continue at very low levels. Since Sunspot 1002 appeared in Sept 2008, the sun never went more than 30 days between worthwhile Cycle 24 sunspots. The last noteworthy Cycle 24 sunspot appeared Jan 9 (Sunspot 1010) . To keep that trend going a sunspot will need to appear in the next 4 days. There is a small area that has appeared high in latitude in the northern hemisphere but remains to be seen it it grows into anything of interest. The Orange is back, and there is no spots on it.
